Ges was more likely to talk about art, or anything for that matter, than Prostate Cancer, when he visited the Maggie’s Centre situated within the grounds of Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow.
The Maggies Centre, a unique refuge, is a space for being together or for a moment alone, whatever the cancer and at whatever stage.
Throughout his illness, Ges was supported and assisted by Stuart Danskin, a knowledgeable and caring man, one of the Cancer Support Specialist, based at Maggie’s.
Without Stuart and Kerry, an astute financial advisor, their support during and after Ges had gone was invaluable. In recognition of the valuable work to support patients and their family, the aim is to donate a portion of the funds raised when Ges’s paintings are auctioned to this very special organisation.
At the end of each podcast, a painting will be featured, creating an online gallery of his work which I hope you will enjoy.
This collection provides a unique visual counterpart to the Men Only platform, further enriching the conversations and explorations initiated through the podcasts and articles. Ges Anderson’s art serves as a visual manifestation of the Men Only ethos, encouraging introspection, understanding, and connection.
